BLOOD MOONS OVER THE MIDDLE EAST

What are blood moons and what do they mean? A blood moon describes a total lunar eclipse where the moon turns blood red. According to NASA, there are around 3,500 total lunar eclipses in the past 5,000-years. Now there will be four within the next two years (2014-2015). These events will fall on the biblical Feast days. This fact has only happened eight times within the past 2,000 years. The last one will be seen in Israel on the Feast of Tabernacles when the Jewish people will be outside in their sukkahs (booths) looking up at the heavens.

The moon orbits the planet Earth once a month. Because its path is elliptical, sometimes it is far away and other times it is close. When it is at its closest point to the Earth it is called being at perigee. When the moon is at perigee and it is a full moon, it is known as a super-moon and appears 14 percent larger. This final blood moon will be seen in Israel on the Feast of Tabernacles and it is a super blood moon that is not only at perigee for the month but is at its closest point for the entire year. Thus, when all of Israel will be outside on the Feast of Tabernacles, there will be a super blood moon hanging over the nation.

THE HOLY BIBLE AND THE SHEMITAH YEARS

The Holy Bible says in Deuteronomy: And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles, when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together… that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the LORD your God and carefully observe all the words of this law…” (Deuteronomy. 31:10-12).  According to the Holy Scriptures, every seventh year, known as the SHEMITAH year (a year of release), everyone in Israel, both Jew and non-Jew would gather to hear the Torah read by the King of Israel. Everyone had to assemble in Jerusalem to learn to fear the LORD their God. The fourth blood moon (which will be in 2015) will be at the end of the seventh year on the Feast of Tabernacles. At that time there will be thousands of Christians in Israel from all over the world joining together with the Jewish people at the end of the SHEMITAH year seeing a super blood moon over Jerusalem.

BLOOD MOONS AND THE BIBLICAL CALENDAR

In 1967, the last time there were four blood moons in a row, Israel captured Jerusalem. The time before that was in 1948, right after Israel became a nation. The Creator of the universe has put mankind on a time schedule and decided for His master clock He would use the precision of the sun and the moon as His timepiece. These heavenly coordinates are beyond the control and manipulation of man to tinker with. In Genesis 1:14, God declared He created both the sun and the moon to be used by us for keeping track of time on His time schedule. The alarm clock would go off periodically when He wants us to wake up and smell the coffee. Out of His great mercy for all of humanity, this alarm would be capable of being understood by all of mankind from every tribe, nation and tongue, as the Bible says (Psalm. 19:1-5). The alarm bells would consist in the form of eclipses of heavenly objects. But more than that, it is the timing of these eclipses in relation to the biblical calendar that would allow us to recognize whether there is any prophetic significance to the wakeup call or if it is just a random event.

We see in Genesis: Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years…” (Genesis 1:14). Remember, Yeshua said in the Gospel of Luke: And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the Earth distress of nations, with perplexity, for the sea and the waves roaring (Luke 21:25). The Muslim calendar is based solely on the moon. The Gentile calendar that the world uses today is based solely on the sun. Only the Jewish calendar is a biblically based calendar in sync with God’s appointed times. Even Christianity has its own religious calendar and holy days separate from anything Jewish. Many believers have received bad data and flawed information. Whether it was intentional or out of ignorance from our forefathers, the spiritual ramifications are tremendous. We must get on God’s calendar today. Believers are called to watch and to pray. God’s people, when they are on God’s calendar, understand the times and well seasons of the Lord. Believers in Yeshua will not be in darkness because they will know when to be watching and what to be watching for. The Day of the Lord will not come on them as a thief in the night.

THE LIKELY MEANING OF THE BLOOD MOONS

The blood moons are probably related to another epic prophetic war involving Israel just as when there were blood moons in 1948 and 1967. The blood moons could be related to another collapse of the global financial system. In 2001, which was a SHEMITAH year, on Elul 29, the day before ROSH HASHANAH, the stock market dropped 7 percent and the largest single drop in U.S. history to that time. Seven years later on September 28, 2008 (which was also Elul 29), the day before ROSH HASHANAH, the Dow fell 777 points, or another 7 percent.  When we come to ROSH HASHANAH 2015 in a SHEMITAH year and a solar eclipse to boot,  thi

s could be our third strike.  In the book of Joel, we see the sun turning to sackcloth and the moon to blood in the context of God judging all nations who are trying to divide His land (Israel). These four blood moons could be warning signals to Israel not to divide its land and a warning to the nations not to pressure Israel to give up land. We must understand that this fact does not mean that there will be certain events at the time of the blood moons.
