THE HOLY TRINITY

The Holy Trinity describes the three majestic persons who make up the one Supreme Being of the universe who manifest as God-the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. While the word “Trinity” does now not appear in the Bible, biblical scholars created it to describe the three persons who make up God, who are additionally referred to as “members of the Godhead.” Throughout the Bible, God is a single being known as the Father, Son, and Spirit (not three “gods”). God has three personas of the one and only God (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 16:23-24; 2 Corinthians 13:13). The Scriptures reveal the Father as the source of creation, the giver of life, and God of all the universe (John 5:26; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 3:14-15). The Son is depicted extra as the image of the invisible God, the exact illustration of his being and nature, and the Messiah-Redeemer (Philippians 2:5-6; Colossians 1:14-16; Hebrews 1:1-3). The Spirit is God in action, God achieving people-influencing them, changing them from inside, filling them, and guiding them (John 14:26; 15:26; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 2:18). All three (Trinity) are a Tri-unity, residing in one another and working together to accomplish their divine plan for the universe (John 16:13-15).

Did Yeshua teach the Trinity? Consider the profound words of Messiah Yeshua that reveal His authoritative teaching about the triune nature of God, or the Trinity: “Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake . . . And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:11,16). In this one verse Yeshua affirmed that He and the Father were one. At the same time, He identified himself and the Father as two distinct persons under the titles of His own name and that of “the Father.” Then Yeshua promised His Church that the Father would answer the prayer of Yeshua and send “another Comforter,” referring to the Holy Spirit, as the third person in the Triune God. l examination of these words of Yeshua reveal clearly that He taught the unity of God expressed in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Comforter (the Holy Spirit). The word “Trinity” comes from the Latin word trinitas, or the word trinitus, which means “three in one” or “threefold.” This word expresses the clear teaching of the Church on the profound biblical doctrine of the nature of God, as revealed in the Scriptures, as a Trinity in unity.
